Definitely. I spent the past few years working in film/tv for fuck all pay. As soon as ChatGPT dropped, I saw which way the wind was blowing and taught myself the basics of ML and Python.

I'm now waiting to start my first position as a Data Engineer, for better pay than the work I'm actually qualified/experienced in. And it's definitely not a case of Dunning-Krueger, I've already demoed a viable prototype to my new employers.
