I agree because such models—already speaking and translating fluidly and instantly between 50 languages, for starters—will never collapse to the pathetic level of human intelligence. Setting aside multi-lingual capabilities, in terms of sheer erudition these models are many, many orders of magnitude better-read than anyone you've ever met. No human has the time to read all these models have read. Not in 1,000 lifetimes. And let's not even talk about speed. In comparison to these models, humans think at the pace of a drunk, wounded, snail.

I do not care about AGI. If these models never improved at all (they will) we could spend decades simply making them run faster, building fact-checking systems stop them to virtually eliminate hallucinations, and using them to improve almost everything.
