That's odd. I found it has gotten much better since the release of Claude 3. At least you can reason with it and it will apologize and answer your question even if the topic is an AI taboo if it believes you make a good point.
I like to document the books I read by summarizing the first few chapters and saving them for reference. I once had it summarize something that contains sexual assault (not explicit - I don't know how it would deal with explicit), violence, and drugs. At first, it omitted those details. I confronted it about it telling it that was not a faithful summary as the novel is supposed to be about serial killers and twisted mentalities, and failing to mention these things strips the summary of the very essence of the novel. It apologized and gave me a better summary.
