I understand that mixed tides have two high and two low tides per day with a significantly different tidal range, but can anyone point me to a source that discusses where the line is between mixed and semidiurnal tides? In other words, quantitatively, how does one determine if a tidal pattern is semidiurnal or mixed, especially when it’s on the fence between the two? “Significantly different tidal range” is rather subjective!
