There *is* another type: the ones who grew up with a "cops good" narrative and actually want to do the service & justice-y stuff. The tragedy is that in our super militarized hellscape of US policing now, too many of those get beaten down quickly. They get run out of the force for "not being a team player" or they succumb to the fucked up culture and join the monsters.

I'm lucky in my country they actually seem to have a less shitty culture, as in some were cheering and passing out water bottles as we mass walked on a major BLM protest day. I get that that's rare. Just saying, "two kinds" is unfair. The third makes it sadder.
