I wonder how sure they are about that

Where I live, it was a dry municipality for decades.

After a ton of pressure eventually the municipality went to the next level of government up to remove the law, and found out that while they had discussed putting a ban on liquor in place they never actually made it law so there was nothing to repeal. Liquor stores had just been kept out through social pressure and the false belief there WAS a law.

Now we have the biggest god damn liquor store I've ever seen. Even the big city nearby doesn't have one that so big, or with as much parking.

The new demon, is cannabis. If you pull up Google maps and look at cannabis stores, it basically traces the outline of the municipality
