Operating across digital real estate information, news media, book publishing, and cable television, News Corp's notable assets include Dow Jones & Company, which is the publisher of The Wall Street Journal, News UK, publisher of The Sun and The Times, News Corp Australia, REA Group, operator of realestate.com.au, realtor.com, and book publisher HarperCollins. ([Wikipedia](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/News_Corp#:~:text=Operating%20across%20digital%20real%20estate,of%20realestate.com.au%2C))

That’s to name a few - the comprehensive [list of all their assets is here](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_assets_owned_by_News_Corp). Rupert ‘and family’ also control Fox Corporation [and it’s extensive list of assets](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_assets_owned_by_Fox_Corporation).

I’m sure there would be those who’d say that’s not a total monopoly, but it doesn’t have to be to achieve the same results. They directly control a significant proportion of the media in Australia, the UK, and the US - even more indirectly. Sounds like a monopoly to me.
