I am an everyday ChatGPT user from Sweden who use ChatGPT for very many aspects of my life.

However I have a problem, since ChatGPT is trained mainly trained on English Data, it is adapted to speak in the same way as an American. This is a huge problem when writing in Swedish since our cultures are very different and we are less vocal and more “humble” in our way of talking. (Don’t mean to throw stones at Americans)

An example of this is when I’ve used ChatGPT to write cover letters.

In Swedish we would say: ”Hej! Mitt namn är Theo och jag hittade er annons och kände direkt att den hade passat mig väldigt bra”.

If you translate it directly word for word the text roughly translates to: “Hi! My name is Theo and I found your job ad and felt directly that it would have fitted me quite well”

While in English it says:

ChatGPT writes: Hi, my namn is Theo and I am eager to express my interest for this exciting position at your prestigious company.

A Swede would NEVER say this since it is so far off from our culture and way of speaking.

So on to do the question: What prompt should I write to get the AI to talk in a way that matches the Swedish culture and way of talking?
