I agree it will probably take the others a while to catch up, but TPUs are already basically better than GPUs for these workloads so I don't think really Google is a good example to point at.

Microsoft has been slow to start, but both AWS and Apple are no slouches - they've been putting out decent chips for ages now so it's not like they are starting from zero.

Seems pretty likely that by 2028 we'll see all frontier training runs/inference workloads on hyperscaler's ASICs, all of the leading labs are either already there (Anthropic, GDM) or have a clear path and made statements in this direction (OAI/Microsoft, Meta)
