My opinion: while the media has helped spread the (valid) threat of TikTok and China hoarding data on hundreds of thousands of Americans (even though evil corporations like Twitter and Facebook do it too) what you never hear about is the other real threat from TT that America's 1% are really worried about, which the way TikTok challenges western copyright laws.

When it started, you could post clips of copywrited music, TV shows, movies, Major League Baseball without the express written consent, etc. on TikTok without getting them taken down. It's what made TT so cool... you could use popular music and images in videoes.

Know what happens if you try that on Youtube? Exactly. By being located offshore where they can't be sued into compliance, TT threatens draconian U.S. copyright law.

Americans are once again being convinced to follow the shiny, scary object when the real answer to why TikTok Must Be Banned! is right there: because banning it supports the interests of those who own everything
