China is a lower cost producer so they can sell more cheaply than most. Buying Chinese produced goods has lead to 600mm people in China moving out of abject poverty. The Chinese haven’t played fair. They steal IP from west, have closed markets for americas biggest companies (Microsoft, google, amazon, facebook,etc). They are the worst offender of dumping product at below cost on the global markets. The argument that having cheaper goods at Walmart at the expense of hollowing out your industrial base was a short term rather silly strategy…like a bad mba class. Allowing China to rise to a massively dangerous adversary will be looked at in history as the worst of all mistakes
