This is what I have been saying for ages about our society. Our biggest issue is making excuses and exceptions for friends and family being shitty people to keep the peace. It's the root of the problem.

If you are like screw those people but aunt Karen is different even though she's pro birth ect because she's FAMILY. you are making the problem worse. You are reducing friction for these people and enabling them. If there are no consequences for being a shit bird why would you stop?
