Some discussion of Hamas's charter: The original charter did indeed use religious language of violence and called for the destruction of Israel and violence against Jewish people.

The article below says the charter specifically said "Jews," but it's a translation so I'm wary of nuance missed. It doesn't seem to say "All Jews" - to some extent this is semantics, because at the root it identified their enemy not by who is oppressing them but by the religion of their oppressors. This is inaccurate and dangerous to innocent people. It's in this religous proverb-y section about the violence they think is necessary to topple the occupation.

They have perhaps- softened their language, or the younger generation wanted to have a clearer message, or after working alongside so many antizionist Jewish people they realized it reallllly needed updating, or or or. They updated their charter in 2017.

Original charter from 36 years ago. “Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it.”

“The Day of Judgment will not come about until Muslims fight Jews and kill them. Then, the Jews will hide behind rocks and trees, and the rocks and trees will cry out: ‘O Moslem, there is a Jew hiding behind me, come and kill him.’”

Charter from 9 years ago. The new charter states that Hamas’ conflict is with Zionism, not Jews.

“Palestine is a land that was seized by a racist, anti-human and colonial Zionist project that was founded on a false promise (the Balfour Declaration),” the 2017 version says.

“Yet,” the charter continues, “it is the Zionists who constantly identify Judaism and the Jews with their own colonial project and illegal entity.”

The charter blames Europeans for “antisemitism and the persecution of the Jews” and says Zionism is a relic of European colonialism that “must disappear from Palestine.
