I am building a lab to test IoT device management and want to create as many clients as possible as I build a system for managing an IoT deployment. I am hoping to use just a couple physical servers with many USB WiFi NICs on each (up to 20 on a powered USB hub), but of course this means that my NICs will be very close to each other. Does anybody have experience with large numbers of WiFi devices operating in close proximity?

In this case we're talking dozens of NICs in the same server rack. I'm trying to get a handle on the point at which I might expect them to interfere dramatically with one another. The devices will be transmitting at a relatively low data rate on an individual basis (they stream telemetry over MQTT)
