I am not the original commenter that you asked. But I know two people who have died from falls. And I'm only 41.
One of these people was basically a family friend who fell off a Sukkah in Jerusalem when he was helping to construct it. He was 31. This was years ago. We always thought he's die from something related to the conflicts. (He grew up in America, but converted to Judaism and moved to Jerusalem). It was shocking that he went from a fall.
The other person I knew was a colleague who was two months from retiring early at 62. He chose age 62 because his brother also retired early. Well, this colleague of mine slipped and crashed into a plate glass sliding door, while he was headed out to water his patio tomatoes. He developed bleeding on the brain, and was in the hospital for about 4 weeks before his family toom him off life support. He never regained consciousness.
