This has been so cathartic talking about what I had been through. I've held in these negative emotions all these years. I had nightmares that I was back at BD doing assembly work.

Eventually, I moved on to other biotech companies. Most of them were bad, but BD was the worst. At BD there was a third party called Ethics. I went to them to tell on my lead who was telling me to do things that were against company policy. They didn't even fire her. That's how I know they were biased.

As someone who was a temp and then became a permanent at BD, I can definitely say that there was a divide between how temps were treated vs permanents. But the biggest divide I saw was between the people who worked in the office vs people who worked on the production floor.

The pay was crap. 1st shift got minimum wage. 2nd shift got 60 cents more. 3 shift got $1.20 more than 1st shift. I got a tiny raise at the end of the year and it was still lower than what other biotech companies in the area were paying their entry level assemblers. And our uniform smocks had stains and ripped holes in them. It was so ghetto lol. The restrooms were always smelly and disgusting. When I worked 3rd shift, I saw the security guard at the front desk sleeping on the job. They wore a big hoodie that covered their face.

Every year they have the company picnic in the late summer/early fall time and the food was just quantity; there was no quality at all. And every year there was a company holiday party at a hotel. Nothing was special about either events.

I worked in packaging, patient care unit, large volume pumps and patient care analgesia. The training was so dumb. During training, the trainer didn't let me take notes, because the company wanted to protect their trade secrets, so it was hard to remember things. I was rushed through the process and I was not allowed to make mistakes.

And whenever there was an inspection, we were told that we had to work according tot he rules. But when the inspector left, we were told to go back to working fast.
