I would be very cautious in thinking that a 10% return is guaranteed in a market that has been up 87% the last 5 years. Keep in mind that a pandemic shut down the entire economy and that the money supply infusion that supercharged the market has been cut off.
Personally, I am very aware of the fact that the excess CAPE Yield (https://ycharts.com/indicators/excess\_cape\_yield) is at a 5 year low. My portfolio is currently 35% bonds. Some people would call that too conservative but this is mostly in long-term bond funds like EDV that can take off if (when) they lower rates. I feel like this gives me a very solid hedge against a market drawback and really isn't a conservative position at all (a true conservative position would be sitting in money market funds that are providing very good returns right now). Even without being fully into the SP500, I've more or less mirrored the return by balancing the bonds with individual stocks. If I had gone full stocks, I would have shit on the SP500, but like I said, very wary that things can turn south fast if a black swan event occurs.
