Those same indigenous Amerindians genocided the Amerindians before them, the only ones that didn’t were the first generation of the very first Amerindian immigration wave, that were wiped out by at the latest the next generation thousands of years earlier. I’m not excusing the genocide of the Colombian exchange, but to say the Amerindians were ever better is noble savage historical revisionism and racist in itself towards both Amerindians and the descendants of non-Amerindian immigrants.
And the US is not actively oppressing Amerindians, not only do they have equal rights as any other American, in some aspects they have more due to the tribal nations and reservation rights. Tell me what ways is the US oppressing Amerindians right now? It’s not police, Tribal police are well known to be particularly ruthless towards non-tribe members if anything.
