This one million billion percent, it’s all dumb bucketloads of money thrown into the inefficient coal furnace that is the us economy. We need a thorough audit of almost every agency, track down over charges from suppliers and administrative bloat, so many email pushers making 100k a year. I was working construction for a summer working in a school remodel. Entire rooms moved around and changed, I was working as an apprentice with the company contracted doing the paging systems. And I remember seeing all the cheap plastic ikea looking chairs stacked up in the storage area for the replacement chairs for the students, I looked it up online and it was $200 a chair, they probably paid a bit less for the large order. it was a very large school. And yet teacher wages remain the same. So much of this stuff gets pounced on by suppliers for surface level bullshit, all those perfectly fine classic metal and composite school chairs replaced with plastic shit that probably needs to be replaced at this time of writing. Still too large class sizes and underpaid teachers in a fancy new building.
