Okay… and? Like, if people view literally every facet about the economy and finance through the prism of how much Lays Potato chips happen to be or if their uncles carpeting business is going downhill, that’s the definition of financial illiteracy.

People just have no idea what’s going on. You’re describing one possible reason for *why* they have no idea what’s going on, but that’s what’s happening.
