Deficit spending affects more than just the business cycle. Creating debt when the economy does not require it creates inflation, the same as printing money does. The government has been doing both, printing or deficit spending or both at the same time for around 20ish years. The issue here is the debt limit is super high, at or over GDP. There is only so long a run way the markets are able to give to a run away monetary policy, the same is true for fiscal policy. The servicing of the debt grows as the debt grows, gobbling up more and more of the budget. Beyond this deficit spending is taking the economic power away from future generations to spend those resources. Listen I’m not a Trump supporter, I won’t be voting for him, but imo Biden is not really good for the country either. I want to give you the education you seek but I’m not a teacher, you will need to take classes in economics, to fully understand the issue, a message board on Reddit is not going to get you there.
