First and foremost, be very weary of scams. There are a ton out there. Make sure you DYOR before investing into a coin, especially ones that aren't on centralized exchanges like Coinbase or Binance.
When I became interested in crypto I started off by listening to podcasts to understand it more. A few I recommend are: - Unchained w/Laura Chin - CoinDesk Podcast Network - Pomp Podcast (although I find him to be incredibly biased and sometimes annoying, he still has good info)
I also learned a ton from CoinBureau's YouTube channel. Some of his videos and in-video ads are extremely corny, but again some solid info.
I'm sure the community has other recommendations (or might think mine are crap) you decide for yourself.
Things to beware of when doing your own research:
-never give away information about your crypto wallets or keys to anyone, ever. - Majority of crypto YouTubers are just promoting pump & dumps, rugpulls or meme coins. - If you use social media, it might be good to start following some crypto friendly accounts, but again 99% of accounts you come across are either scammers or "influencers" providing awful advice. Any account offering "price predictions" is full of shit. - there's a lot of click bait articles out there on reputable websites with headlines like "invest in these 3 coins to become an overnight millionaire". These are usually paid-for articles written by people who have no idea what they're talking about. Once you start learning about tokenomics and how market cap/supply affect coin price, you'll be able to understand what to look out for when investing.
Hope this helps and good luck!
