As someone who works in the concert industry, were finally making a good wage and this is going to fuck us all.
Concerts are not the prices they are because ticketmaster is just greedy, they are expensive because the production value of a concert has gone up an order of magnitude in the last 15-20 years.
A tour bus that cost $1000 a week 10 years ago now cost $4000 a week.
A normal lighting system for an arena went from costing a couple thousand a day is now over 10k easily. Thats not even a fancy show. Add in pyro, sound, trucking, catering and union labor and its easily 70k just to put on a show for 1 day without even paying the artist.
Not to mention everyone decided it was ok to steal music (napster) or just use streaming services that pay jack shit.
