I’m a big concert goer and in Ottawa, I’m lucky that a lot of the smaller venues I like to go to aren’t affiliated with Ticketmaster.

But recently it bummed me out when I realized that a lot of people I know, who aren’t as big of concert goers as I am, or who don’t follow as many smaller artists as I do, perceive Ticketmaster as “the app where you go for all concert tickets”. It bummed me out that they perceive $100 for nosebleed tickets at the Canadian tire center as a good value. That’s nothing on them, but it shows the outcome of the years Ticketmaster has spent taking advantage of the public and inflating the face value of concert experiences for gross profit.
