As above, why do you interpret my comment as absolute?

In fact, I literally discuss in my comment that you responded to an analogy of a calculator that's accurate 20% of the time. Is a calculator that's accurate 20% of the time 100% not useful, ever? Well, not really - it's useful 20% of the time. But the problem is that how is the user supposed to know when it's accurate? They'd have to double check the work of the calculator every time they used it, which makes it functionally purposeless, even if it's right some of the time.

Again, same thing with this subreddit. Even if it's right occasionally, which it is, there's so much garbage here that's unsupportable economically that you'd have to either be an economist or consistently seek to verify everything posted here independently by researching economic studies. Which, if you're a lay person, defeats the purpose entirely. Thus, this is not a subreddit for economics, and is a political subreddit in which people attempt to serve their prior convictions through the lens of economics.

Further, I don't believe you even read my initial comment thoroughly. Did you notice the usage of the word *frequently* in there? Where was I absolute? Where is the usage of the words never or always? I don't see either.

That's not defeatist. This subreddit is useless for economic purposes. Again, see above analogy. A forum in which a significant amount of misinformation is presented regularly makes that forum a useless place for the study of that information. There are other forums for discussion that are better. I'm not giving up on economics because this forum sucks.

Probably. But they're either significantly outnumbered by the idiots, or they're intelligent but not in economics. And let me be clear since you seem to have had trouble in the past - *that's in general, obviously not literally everyone here has no understanding of economics*.
