Greetings Dotlings,

Is there any insight on why the Jam chain will use optimistic rollups rather than zk rollups? Was this decision made with a specific use case in mind? My understanding is the zk rollups risk centralization while optimistic rollups risk trusting validator honesty AND participant vigilance to keep them honest. I think I understand this to mean that dot validators could potentially be slashed for being offline AND for processing incorrect blocks, if caught...

Is building a trust-less system still important to the dot ecosystem?

Is dot trading trust for throughput?

I wonder why use optimistic over zk when at first glance it seems zk rollups might be better especially if there is potential improvement to decentralized ways to conduct proofs. Is the computational power that much more demanding for zk rollups that outweighs the benefits?

Also, what about the time involved in correcting blocks that have mistakes, if there ever is one?
