I am not yet comfortable with the idea of no physical currency, but I do believe that physical currency will be transitioned out in favor of some form of digital currency. Whether that is centralized or decentralized, govt issued or "wild" born crypto, or a mixture, I think we are headed in that direction like it or not. Even if the majority has to be dragged kicking and screaming into "digital only" transactions.

We are almost there now! Mental exercise -- How much of your monthly personal business is transacted in physical cash and could you conduct all your personal business without \*any\* physical cash, if you had to for "reasons"?

I like using cash for tips, but I could just add the tip to the debit/credit transaction. I'm sure I like to use cash for more than tips, but at the moment I can't think of any that are \*required\* to be in physical cash. I use credit, debit, ach/eft, zelle, venmo... And while all of those are just digital representations of physical cash transactions, there's no real need for the physical version to be in circulation for those transactions to be valid. They're just numbers in computerized ledgers.
