I have an energy management system that spits out energy consumption reports in csv from many buildings. Some reports are quite complex as we monitor a lot of Distribution Boards within, and some buildings don't have main incomers working correctly.
Anyway it sends reports with data hour by hour and you needed to take last and first value to come up with consumption per month. It's easy isn't it? But not when you get gaps in consumption due to various issues, or when you have 50 boards to go through in 50 different sheets within single excel file. We have like 60 buildings monitored like that - some more some less complex.
It used to take week every couple of months to update data, now with historical chat what my admins just do is to upload all spreadsheets and asks to do the calcs for them. Takes them couple of days tops and they can update data monthly which makes stakeholders happy, in result I can cover more ground and give them some more exciting tasks.
Honourable mention to Power BI skills I acquired from scratch thanks to Chatgpt. It's so good!
