Sure but it seems to not matter the other way. If a statistic makes Trump look bad he just calls it fake, and conservative media agrees or ignores it. Many of the same people that say the stock market doesn’t matter, that unemployment stats are wrong etc were using the exact same metrics to praise Trump. Americans also generally trust republicans with economy, despite republican administrations being objectively worse on the economy.

It’s a propaganda problem, and anyone saying otherwise is in denial.
