For me, taking profits is for reinvesting later to have a bigger bag for the next run. As someone with a stable job/income, cashout would be pointless at this stage. Can it replace my income? Hell no. Can it buy me a house? Nope. Can I buy a car or holiday with, yea sure, but that's money that will be gone, and I would have to start from scratch in the next bear.
I am far from a cryptoboy, but I do believe in it for the long run, especially BTC. In 5, 10, 15 years, I believe BTC will have a valuation far above todays level. Other projects, too, but it's a coinflip who survives and who dont.
So yea, Im in it for the long haul. If this is the top, and we go back to 20k? So be it, it doesn't affect my day to day. And if I sold today, after taxes, I would have to gamble on what a sub 45k BTC or so - just to be breakeven.
Im not trying to say selling now is wrong. It really isn't. It is very much individual, based on the purpose of your investment, the amount, your age, your job situation, etc.
Gz on the payout!
