I got a Bluetooth FM transmitter from Walmart for like $20 that you plug into a 12V socket, pick a station, then set the OEM radio to that station and your phone's audio plays over the car stereo. It even has a remote with pause, next, answer, etc. The only real issue is anyone within 20 feet or so will be able to hear it if they know what channel you're using.

If you've tried this before and didn't like it and that attempt was before circa 2021, I'd say try again since the transmitters have gotten way better. Besides the more efficient Bluetooth version and higher FM power, they no longer require installing a shitty app. The Roav one I bought circa 2017 would sound terrible unless the chosen channel was pure static and the app wanted carte blanche permissions and was so bad it was easier to just uninstall it after each use but this new Walmart one sounds perfectly clear even if the station I've picked is broadcasting from a few blocks away.

Also, 12 disc CD changer sounds like the highest tier feature or something on a higher tier trim. It's possible there were multiple OEM sound systems/head units and one of the lower tier options has an AUX port. If that's the case, you could possibly find a perfectly functional unit from a junkyard for $10-$30 and it could could be easy to install yourself.
