Yes. If you want to sell a stock, it’s cuz you want to sell it. Not sell it 2 months from now.

You could do the same with limit buys. You wanna buy a stock, but you wanna buy it at a discount. So you just put in your lowball number and wait. As someone who’s done that a bunch of times, it can be a long enough time that you forget you’ve got that order out there. It’s never hitting that damn number. So if you wanna buy something, buy it. If you want to sell it, sell it.

The premiums, unless it’s a lot of shares and a real volatile stock, generally aren’t worth the time differential. It could be looking at months of delay for what? Couple hundred bucks?
