The estimate is not the month to month change. The estimate is the total number of jobs for a given month. If the BLS say there are 158,286,000 jobs, but then later says there were only 158,236,000, I do not see that as a horrible inaccuracy.

Being off by 50k when the change is 150k is no more inaccurate than being off by 50k when the change is 950k jobs. In both cases, the estimate of the number of jobs would be off 50k. The value of the previous month's estimate does not impact the accuracy of the current month.
