A similar customer I have visited, does a lot of melting at night where there is more of a surplus of electricity available, and it stays molten until the morning due to its thermal mass where they can work it. Still a lot of electricity, but at a lower price and higher availability. I don't know why this would be potentially better though than an arc furnace or induction furnace
