> The only purpose it could have is a global currency

BTC's sole and only purpose is to be a currency for the Bitcoin network. Period. End of story. If people want to use it for *anything* else, that's their prerogative, but nothing will change this base utility of BTC.

> There's nothing to understand

Well clearly, you don't understand the fundamental aspect of what BTC even *is*, so...

The Bitcoin network produces a product: blockspace. This blockspace is in very high demand. The *only* way you can use the Bitcoin network blockspace is by using BTC the token. These are facts. Therefore, BTC is a currency for the network. The demand for blockspace is only as speculative as everything else in the stock market. If people want to use a product, they'll pay for it. A lot. If they don't, then they won't. There's no need to complicate it any more than that.

Speculative bubble? Maybe. **That's truly of any early tech.** We're seeing real adoption from big players (Visa, JP Morgan, Blackrock, Reddit, MC, SAP, EIB bonds, Paypal, the list goes on and on).
