This is such a bad take. I really disdain the general opinion of “they’re just posturing.”
They’re not. They never are. The most generous take is that they’re testing our response to certain aggressions. How far can they go, what does a response look like and whether an aggression goes under the radar.
It’s never posturing. They may be doing something dumb and ill advised or they may be fishing for information, but Russia is never just doing random shit for the hell of it. We are way past the point of dismissing modern Russia as a silly nuisance.
