I love Al. I hate the people building it.

Why? Because they're uneducated children who never took a course on ethics, morals or even basic economy.

When you build something that is so disruptive you have to be very cautious. They're the antithesis of cautious, raised to the move fast break things moto.

Sometimes monkeys make clever tricks. Then they get so excited about their new discovery that it becomes chaos until everything is broken.

Why do people hate, or more realistically are very cautious about this? It's because they can already see their job taken, they can't find justification for their own kids to continue learning at school, they can see the big crisis coming and the pilots driving this crazy train not giving a single F.

I'm a scientist, but also a dad. Two of my kids are already working or soon going to, and the last is still learning. Watching this last year made me feel excitement, but soon also question myself about my job, what meaning was there to still work in that area, what should I advise my kids to do, what will be the value of everything we've carefully built, learnt?

I'm in no way a crazy believer in AGI or any of that stuff, nor do I think we will all die in a terminator apocalypse. No. But I'm convinced we're getting less and less wise as a species, because we let money become the sole governor of all our motivations. Everything else has become secondary. But I digress.

TLDR; we can't trust the people who are building AI because they act like spoiled kids without a nanny. The problem is our future is in their hands.
