I think you're misunderstanding my position. I believe in strong social safety nets, and we have that in the United States.

They are capitalist democracies, with a higher degree of social programs. Some are able to sustain this through sovereign wealth funds.

Many can't, like Venezuela and Argentina until recently. You need capitalism to create the tax base.
