There is very little liquidity during after hours trading - as in very few entities have open buy/sell orders. This tends to create large 'spreads' - or differences in price between the best bid and best ask.

When you sold your shares it sounds like you used a market order, which is basically saying 'get me whatever price you can as fast as possible'. If you want a specific price for your shares, you would need to use a limit order which can take some time to fill (or never be filled if nobody is willing to pay that much)

During market hours there are lots of entities competing on price, so these bid-ask spreads tend to be very small (pennies).

Remember that the price you see from past trades has absolutely no bearing on prices obtained in future trades.
