No one knows how it’s going to work. I am still skeptical, but something big will have to change if we really achieve a level of automation where there’s not enough meaningful contributions to the economy to go around to all the working age adults. If our aggregate productivity goes up, there will be more wealth, and with wealth, there is the opportunity for social good, but what does the world look like when there is that much automation displacing our productive activities on which we base our identity and value.
