>What are you talking about electricity was much safer then the alternative , you know kerosine and oil lamps and candles that routinely caused fires
Kerosine or oil lamps or candles weren't new or scary, they were already a known risk. People with electric wiring issues early on in the day could lose their house and that is a "new" threat people didn't like and was a reason electric adoption was slower than it could have been.
>Dude I know what bitcoin is, also why has it taken so long to figure out? Its not new its 15 years old
Based on your comments I know for a fact that you can't explain what SHA-256 hash algorithms are or what the difficulty adjustment is without Googling. This means you don't understand how Bitcoin really works on the most basic levels because you haven't spent any time educating yourself past what you read in headlines.
>what no thats deflation , I could ask you "wouldn't you like to get paid less every year instead of more?"
I absolutely would be okay with taking a "pay cut" if the money I am earning every year is effecitvely becoming more valuable not less. The number that my salary is means nothing to me, all I care about is my effective buying power. You could not be working and still be wealthier every year literally doing nothing but saving - humans are more efficient with technology and you should see the prices for things you want to buy going down as a result. This is how the natural state of freemarkets and technology work. Read the book The Price of Tomorrow written by tech entrepreneur Jeff Booth and you'll understand.
>I own my home, you are asking me if I want my home that I own to become cheaper?
I also own my house, but I don't give a shit if the price of it goes down because it is just a tool to protect me from the environment. Real estate shouldn't be a financial vehicle, Bitcoin is better as an "investment" or whatever you want to call it vs real estate in every way and it will suck the financial aspect of housing over the next 20-30 years, you better be fucking ready for that buddy.
>I do not save money in cash, I buy cash flow producing assets like stocks and bonds like most investors.
Unless you've been putting the vast majority of your wealth into NVDA over the last 8-9ish years, your "investments" have lost priced in Bitcoin. Congrats on your L.
>Again I own my home an asset and I do not save in dollars I buy assets mostly index funds, so this is an investing sub , most people do the same. You are arguing holding bitcoin vs cash stuffed under a matteress LMFO if you think people on an investing sub are saving cash in a matteress
If everything I owned lost so hard in comparison to something I was so bitter about, I would struggle to cope with reality just as much as you're doing now. Here's a wonderful website to demonstrate how much money you've lost by being fucking dumb and refusing to learn something new.

I picked 4 years and the S&P 500 but you can adjust the settings to what you want.
Saving **$1,000 per month** for the past 4 years until today (May 22, 2024) results in:
||Bitcoin|S&P 500| |:-|:-|:-| |Invested|$48,000|$48,000| |Return|$130,374|$62,683| |Profit|171.61%|30.59%| |Stacked| 1.87 BTC|—|
