Sure, I've tried summaries but the problem is that I always have to double check. What is a summary? A subset of facts. Say your paper is comprised of facts \[1, 2, 3, ..., N\]. So a summary might be facts \[2, 5, 11\]. But that depends on how detailed of a summary you want, maybe you want the top 3 facts or top 5 or top 10. So where's the problem? The problem is that if I get a summary of facts \[2, 5, 11\] I can't just check those facts. I have to go through every fact, rank it, and evaluate if yes indeed those 3 facts are the 3 most important ones. There are problems which are easy to validate but hard to solve. For instance sorting is such a task. You can check a list is sorted in linear time but to sort it it takes longer. But there are other tasks like most optimization tasks (traveling salesman, knapsack etc) where checking the solution is the same as finding the solution. That's why I don't use LLMs. Because every task that has ever mattered to me - summaries, Q&A, translation, requires me to know how the task should be executed, I can't just rely on the result.
