The more realistic future, if the right decision makers make the right decisions (haha) is that we see societal improvements raise the standard of living for all. AI in healthcare will have the largest impact from the start. It will get better at diagnosis and cures. It will allow AI avatars and robots to interact with patients, answering any of their questions, suggesting course of action, and providing human like follow-up and after care. It will help those with disabilities function almost as if they don't have any (think hearing, sight, and mobility). They will allow people who couldn't live alone before to live alone. Those with addiction issues, will be managed and supported by a 24/7 personalized AI councilor. This will all be delivered at a fraction of todays cost. Drugs will be invented faster, and cheaper than ever before with less investment risk.

AI will support farmers to optimize crop yields and support food supply chains with hyper accurate forecast models limiting food waste and reducing the overall cost for foods for everyone.

AI will augment education to the point that each student will have access to the greatest professors in the world across every domain. Our children will receive tailored, specific educational tutoring personalized for their learning style and strengths/weaknesses, all at a fraction of the cost.

AI will remove language barriers to the point, there will be no need to learn a new language except as a hobby. The world will flatten as people from all across the world can participate in the same economic markets.

I think rather than handing out money, society instead can leverage AI to reduce if not eliminate many of the core things people need money for - health care, food, shelter, education - which will enable people to follow their passions more and earn enough money to satisfy their emotional and entertainment needs.
