I also worked for BD as an assembler (Small plant in the north east, roughly around 2022), but some of this shit absolutely rings true even where I worked. Among other things, there was always a constant pressure to work harder and meet deadlines from the managers, not to mention micromanaging. Didn't help that, for some god awful reason, our time studies on the back of work orders were based off guess work rather than actual data (because the plant manager at the time didn't like the data apparently). Newer assemblers and temps were treated as expendable due to high turnover. Same deal with engineering techs who often did as much word as the engineers themselves, minus the title and payroll. Promotions were often withheld because they desperately needed assemblers/techs/etc.

I don't think I got anxiety, but I definitely got worsening depression and probably trauma from that place, even after I quit, likely because the managers kept accusing me of working slowly (even when I took their critiques and busted my ass off). In hindsight, I have to wonder if they ultimately didn't like my personality or something. Either way, this was apparently one of the *best* BD locations to work for, if the managers and corporate overlords are to be believed.

And speaking of affairs, we literally had one of the incoming warehouse people actively try to cheat with another assembler. He ended up getting arrested at work for stalking her. It was so trashy.💀 Also just remembered a customer service manager being biased towards women while being a subtle perv. As far as I know, I think he still works there. There's probably a bunch of shit I missed, too.

TL:DR: Fuck BD. They treat their entry level employees like shit from assemblers to engineering techs. Even their better locations are garbage.
