It may be worth mentioning for the benefit of those unfamiliar with this bit of history that the Peel Commission was a British partition plan that gave the Arabs over 80% of Palestine, with the Jews only getting the coastal strip around Tel Aviv and part of Galilee. The Arabs rejected it as being too generous to the Jews of course.

Pretty much every deal since that's ever been proposed has (a) been rejected by the Arabs for being too generous to the Jews and (b) less generous to the Arabs than the previous one. You'd think that at some point they'd learn that if you can't get what you want you should want what you can get, but they never have.
