Let's say I have some API that return values like the number of cities a traveler needs to visit and other info.

Then in the prompt I would like GPT4 to do things such as "if the number of cities to visit is less than 4 you can create a route that only takes half a day". The question is what is the best way to do the prompting because if I replace directly into the prompt the text that travels is something like "if 3 is less than 4 you can ....." this might be OK for GPT but sounds weird and for more complex constructions it can be very difficult to debug.

Any guidelines or ideas to do these kind of things?
