Hi everyone. I'm totally new to investing and the question i'm about is probably gonna sound dumb for many of you, but I still can't manage to find a proper answer online so I'm asking you guys!

The situation is: I had some savings (about 7000€), so I decided to invest them in S&P500 (A0YEDG) using Trade Republic, but as soon as I placed my order I was in loss of 10€, even though the ETF didn't lower it's value. Transaction fees are only 1€ so I don't think that's the cause.

I know that in a long term investment 10€ won't make any difference, but I was wondering why it would happen. It could be due to the USD - EUR conversion? If so, would you suggest to buy an ETF in euros rather than in dollars? Thank you all I'm advice
