Not only does America have a never ending line of people willing to take low wages and shitty conditions to come live here, and another line of highly skilled people kind of the same, we actually have substantial migration out of the country in our oldest age groups.
Unlike most developed nations, where benefits accrue in seniority and by far the most rational decision is to stay put exactly where you are, health and elder care services, including transportation etc., are very expensive relative to the huge amounts of wealth older folks have accrued in their homes. This directly encourages middle-class old folks, now unproductive and a drain on the system, to go move to Mexico. Where they can have dental, health, prescription medicine, a house cleaner and a taxi driver, for pennies on the dollar of what a group home would charge in the U.S.
Anyway, people definitely do talk about it. But migrants still have children, and we can have more migrants whenever we please.
