What I take from it is there is a LOT of money to be invested and this is still an attractive investment for people.

Plus, I have enough of a populist streak in me to know that the US economy is pretty hard for many people to find employment that pays as well as they would like.....but how can investors not have confidence in stocks when the economy keeps just freaking growing and growing despite all the insults and rates being where they are. If you'd asked me a few years ago, I would have been right there with the "Yep....recession is inevitable!" crowd.....but I was wrong, lol.

Also, one of the other stories of these asset prices going UP and UP is there's just so much money that needs to be invested. So much money. The only difference is the stock market is very visible. The other parts of this is all the money going into private equity and inflating other asset classes too. It's like everything but commercial real estate is booming.

Now I think it's fair to have a policy discussion about whether we have too much investment capital chasing too few attractive assets, but until people want to shift money into safer asset classes like bonds or putting stacks of bills in the safe deposit box, this will continue.
