Perhaps it's a comprehension issue but from this I did not get the idea that the dad was admitting that his son was violent. It feels more like he is trying to convince the police supervisor that his son should be taken to the hospital, perhaps due to fears of self harm. I guess we'll see if the full footage ever gets released.
